This Privacy Policy explains how Frosty Robot Studio LLC ("we", "us", or "our")
collects, uses, and shares information when you play Timber Frenzy (the "Game") on iOS
or Android, or through our web version.
We built Timber Frenzy to be playable without an account. We do not ask for your name, email address,
phone number, or date of birth, and we do not track your precise location.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
- Nickname. When you first launch the Game you may enter a nickname. This is free text
you choose; you are not required to use your real name, and we encourage you not to. Nicknames are filtered
for offensive language on your device. Your nickname is stored with your game progress and is shown to you
in the Game. It is not published to other players — the in-game leaderboard is generated locally
on your own device and is not a live ranking of real users.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Anonymous player ID. When the Game starts, we create an anonymous account through
Firebase Authentication. This produces a random identifier that is not linked to your Apple Account,
email, or any personal detail.
- Game progress and settings. Your stage progress, in-game currency balances (coins
and gems), equipment and upgrades, mission and daily sign-in status, purchase-related flags (such as
whether you own the ad-free upgrade or an active VIP Pass), your chosen language, and save timestamps.
This data is stored on your device and, so you don't lose progress, backed up to our cloud database
against your anonymous player ID.
- Aggregate ad interaction counts. When you tap a "watch ad" button, we increase a
counter for that button's location in the Game (for example, the store or the battle results screen).
These counters are totals across all players and are not stored against your player ID.
- Purchase and subscription status. If you make a purchase, our payments provider
records which items you own and whether your subscription is active, linked to your anonymous player ID.
We never receive or store your payment card details. All payments are processed by
Apple or Google.
- Device and advertising information. Our advertising partner may access your device's
advertising identifier, IP address, device type and operating system, and information about ads you were
shown or interacted with. See section 3.
- IP-based time check. To stop timers and daily rewards being manipulated by changing
your device clock, the Game requests the current time from a third-party time service. That request
necessarily reveals your IP address to that service, which uses it to determine your approximate time
zone. We do not store your IP address ourselves.
- Invite codes and referrals. If you open the Invite Friends screen, we generate a
short random invite code and store it against your anonymous player ID. If you enter a friend's code,
we record that your anonymous player ID was invited by theirs, and whether you have played enough
battles for their reward to be released. That is the whole of it: we do not see who you sent an invite
to, whether you sent one at all, or anything about the people you sent it to. Invite codes contain no
information about you and cannot be traced back to your device or nickname by anyone who receives one.
Sharing an invite happens through your own device's share sheet, so your choice of app and recipient
stays between you and that app — it is never reported back to us.
1.3 Information we do not collect
We do not collect your precise or GPS location, contacts, photos, calendar, microphone or camera data,
health data, browsing history outside the Game, or any special category data. The Game has no chat or
messaging features and no way for players to contact each other inside it. The Invite Friends screen can
hand an invite link to your device's own share sheet, but the Game never reads your contacts and never
learns who you shared it with.
2. How We Use Information
- To run the Game, save your progress, and restore it if you reinstall or change device.
- To deliver the items, currency, and subscription benefits you have purchased, and to verify that a
subscription is still active.
- To display advertising, including optional ads you choose to watch in exchange for rewards.
- To keep game timers and daily rewards accurate and resistant to tampering.
- To understand which parts of the Game are used, in aggregate, so we can improve it.
- To detect and prevent cheating, fraud, and abuse, and to enforce our Terms of Use.
- To run the Invite Friends reward: matching an invite code to the player who created it, and releasing
that player's reward once the invited player has played enough battles.
- To comply with legal obligations.
Legal bases (for players in the UK, EEA, and Switzerland)
- Contract — saving progress, restoring purchases, and providing subscription benefits
are necessary to give you the Game you asked for.
- Legitimate interests — aggregate usage counts, anti-cheat and anti-fraud measures,
and keeping the Game secure and working.
- Consent — personalised advertising and any use of your advertising identifier for
tracking. You may withdraw consent at any time (see section 6).
- Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose information by law.
3. Advertising
Timber Frenzy displays advertising supplied by Google AdMob. Some ads are optional: you
may choose to watch one in exchange for an in-game reward. Google may use your device's advertising
identifier and related information to select and measure ads. Google's handling of that data is governed
by its own policies:
On iOS 14.5 and later, Apple requires your permission before an app may track you across other companies'
apps and websites. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will be less relevant to you. You can
change this at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking on your device.
On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your Google settings.
If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we do not show you any advertising
at all. Rather than ask you to consent to personalised advertising, we disable advertising entirely
for players in these regions, and no advertising identifier is requested or used. You can still play the whole
Game and make purchases; only the optional "watch an ad for a reward" features are unavailable. We determine
this from your device's time zone and language settings, and we err on the side of disabling ads.
4. Who We Share Information With
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with advertisers for their own
independent purposes. We use the following service providers, who process data on our behalf or as
independent controllers as noted:
| Provider | What it handles | Their policy |
Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore) |
Anonymous player ID; cloud backup of your game progress and nickname; aggregate ad-placement counters |
firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Google AdMob |
Serving and measuring advertising; advertising identifier, IP address, device data |
policies.google.com/privacy |
| RevenueCat |
Recording which purchases and subscriptions are active, against your anonymous player ID |
revenuecat.com/privacy |
| Apple / Google Play |
Processing all payments and subscriptions, and handling refunds |
apple.com/legal/privacy |
| WorldTimeAPI |
Returning the current time; receives your IP address to determine your time zone |
worldtimeapi.org |
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms of Use, to protect our rights
or the safety of others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case we
will note it in this policy).
5. International Transfers
Our providers operate globally, so your information may be processed in the United States and other
countries whose data protection laws may differ from those where you live. Where we transfer personal
data out of the UK or EEA, our providers rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard
Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
6. Your Choices and Rights
- Advertising. Turn off app tracking, or reset your advertising identifier, in your
device settings as described in section 3. You may also remove ads entirely by purchasing the ad-free
upgrade.
- Deleting your data. Because there is no account or login, the simplest way to delete
your local data is to delete the Game from your device. To have your cloud save and anonymous player ID
deleted from our database as well, contact us at contact@frostyrobotstudio.com — you can
find your player ID in the Game's settings screen, or just tell us the nickname and approximate date you
started playing and we will locate it. A deletion request also removes your invite code and any referral
record connected to your player ID.
- Access, correction, portability, restriction, and objection. If you are in the UK,
EEA, Switzerland, or a jurisdiction with comparable rights, you may ask for a copy of the personal data
we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to
processing based on legitimate interests. Contact us at the address above. You also have the right to
complain to your local data protection authority.
- California residents. Under the CCPA/CPRA you may request access to, correction of,
or deletion of your personal information, and you may ask what categories we collect, use, and disclose
— all of which are described in this policy. We do not sell personal information, and we do not
share it for cross-context behavioural advertising where you have opted out of tracking. We will
not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
7. How Long We Keep Information
We keep your cloud save for as long as it is useful for restoring your progress, and delete it on request.
Invite codes and referral records are kept for as long as the reward may still be claimed, and are deleted
on request along with your save. Aggregate ad-placement counters contain no identifier and are kept
indefinitely. Our providers apply their own retention periods to advertising and purchase records.
8. Security
Cloud saves are stored in Google Cloud Firestore and transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
Access is restricted so that a save can only be read or written by the anonymous account it belongs to.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
Timber Frenzy is not directed to children under 13 (or under the minimum age required in your country),
and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us
with personal information, contact us at contact@frostyrobotstudio.com and we will delete
it. Because the Game contains advertising and optional purchases, we recommend parents use
Screen Time on iOS or Parental controls on Google Play to manage in-app spending.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above, and for
significant changes we will provide notice in the Game. Continuing to play after an update means you
accept the revised policy.
